It also complements coastal designs with its preppy vibe and crisp navy or striped accents. But don't let yourself be limited by your home's design style if this is a look you want to try.

"Even modern classic and rustic-luxe spaces can pull it off by mixing refined touches like leather chairs or plaid fabrics with their existing elements," says Switzer.

If you're in the market for new furniture, choose pieces with classic shapes in high-quality fabrics and natural materials like wood. This is also a great chance to shop second-hand, where you can get collect affordable pieces (and they'll fit the relaxed old-money vibe of the country club perfectly!)
